Use the P-Pocket belly bands for the following purposes:

House Breaking Training Aid.

Scent Marking Training Aid

Protection for Dogs that become Incontinent (health/old age)

Protection Submissive/Excited Urination

Define the Problem

First, define your little guy’s problem so that you can address his specific situation.  Is he not housebroken yet?  Is he scent marking his territory ?  Does he urinate only when he gets nervous and/or excited?  Or, is he a senior or has health problems that cause him to be incontinent?   Proper use of the P-Pocket belly band can help with all of these problems.

House Breaking and Scent Marking

For house breaking and scent marking the belly band is used as a training aid.  You will want your little guy to be uncomfortable when he does the “BAD”.  So, don’t take the band off immediate let him be uncomfortable and feel the consequence of his actions.  The belly band prevents you from having to catch him in the act to correct him.  The name of the game with these two situations is to “out smart him”.  Don’t laugh – the little guys are intelligent and remember what they are doing comes naturally. Here's a very helpful training article on the subject -- House Breaking - Urinating.

Nervous/Excited or Incontinent

If your dog is either nervous/excited or incontinent, you will want to do things differently.  Since these conditions are not the fault of your pet, he really doesn’t deserve to be uncomfortable.  You will want to change the belly band as soon as you notice.  If you haven’t already, I suggest that you talk with your vet to make sure you are doing everything that you can for your incontinent pet.  For the nervous/excited pet, you may want to read this helpful training article on the subject.  The more you know the better you can combat the situation. Here’s links to two websites loaded with information for the Senior Dog owner.

How to Use the P-Pocket Belly Band

1) Try to keep a belly band on him when he’s inside the home and is not confined.

2) Purchase several belly bands so he has one to wear while the others are in the laundry.

3) Of course you know to take the belly band off while he’s outside.

How Not to Use a Belly Band

The purpose of our belly bands is not for birth control.

The belly band is not designed as a “catch all” when you are away and cannot be back for his regular break.  The belly band should only be worn while supervised.

Please consult your Vet to make sure your Pet's Urinating problem is not health related.  Do ask your Vet for his recommendations on how and when to use any type of belly band.
